Britain on Film: Our Coastal Life on Film
Presented by The Corn Hall in collaboration with the East Anglian Film Archive and Creative Arts East

Journey back through the decades with a rare screening of Britain on Film: Our Coastal Life on Film – a beautifully curated selection from the East Anglian Film Archive, showcasing life along the coast and beyond.

From Great Yarmouth beach holidays to working ports, seaside entertainments, and windswept clifftop communities, this evocative programme captures the spirit, resilience, and charm of East Anglia’s coastal towns and villages throughout the 20th century.

This unique collection is part of the BFI’s nationwide Britain on Film project – bringing forgotten reels and community stories back to life on the big screen. Whether you have a love of history, heritage, or just enjoy a good bit of nostalgia, this film will take you on a memorable voyage through time.

Highlights include: Rare archive footage from Norfolk and Suffolk’s coastal communities. Seaside holidays, fishing traditions, and changing industries

A window into the everyday lives of East Anglians by the sea

Perfect for all ages, Our Coastal Life on Film is a celebration of place, people, and the power of film to connect us to our shared past.
