Chat Room
Venue: The Corn Hall
Chat Room is an exhibition that encourages
discussion and reflection on the current world we
live in. Each artist tackles a different topic through
their practice, collectively forming an exhibition that
challenges our beliefs and ways of life.
The viewers of Chat Room will be encouraged to
be vocal participants in the works and to become a part of the conversations
the artists want us to have.
The exhibition includes the works of three 2021 graduates from
Norwich University of The Arts and three current students.
Artists
exhibited are: Elizabeth Seymour, Muneerah Yate, Anya O’Mahony,
Esther Ladipo, Susan Worden and Ardra Nair.
Artist and exhibition curator, Elizabeth Seymour says, “As an artist
making work about political topics, I find that listening to the
viewers’ responses is one of the most important and exciting parts
of my practice."
"The purpose of my work is to encourage thought and discussion
about topics I am concerned about. I feel as though my work is not
complete until is reacted to and responded to.”
Throughout the duration of the exhibition, six conversations will be
formed on the gallery walls and available for the artists and fellow
viewers to see and react to.
